We dedicate this edition to Jules Renard who’s 100th anniversary of death is celebrated in 2010 (1864-1910) The author of the "Histoires naturelles" (Natural stories) invites us to reflect on the other ‘we know ourselves better that it seems and we prevent ourselves from accusing the other of possessing the faults we are sure we have’.

This nineteenth edition is dedicate to the other. The editorial rive proposes a reflection on the otherness. The academic rive analyses the etymological and cultural duality of otherness. The philosophical rive reveals the place of the other in our existence. The exotic rive is the testimony of a visitor from Berlin in the Canary Islands. The historical rive is the biography of the passionate historian, Albert Delahaye. The poetic rive invites us on the romantic journey into the country of an other. The Greek rive looks into the national mobilisation of aid to migrants.
