This 44th issue of our electronic review is dedicated to resistance in all its forms in everyday life, in times of war or peace, under an authoritarian or democratic regime, in all latitudes, at all times. The Spanish Republicans who courageously opposed Franco’s totalitarianism in the 1936 Civil War, a repetition of fascist and Nazi totalitarianism, had this beautiful formula for resisting nationalist oppression-"No pasaran," which means "They will not pass!" This injunction took hold in 2023, when authoritarian regimes were increasingly threatening the world.
